How to Succeed with Your New MLM Company

There are a lot of things that are contagious in this world.  The common cold, for one thing.  The flu.  Pink eye is a bad one.

And just like a cold, the virus can sneak up on us, when we are least expecting it.  We surround ourselves with the infected ones, share a story, enjoy a cup of coffee, and little by little their germs become our germs.  We feel the same way they do, we act the same way.

And such is the way with attitude and outlook.  If we surround ourselves with negativity, it too can make our souls and behavior sick or unwell. It can rob us of our enthusiasm and excitement for our jobs and our life.  It can kill our sense of passion.

If you want to succeed with your new MLM company, don't get the flu of negativity.  Don't come down with the common complainer cold.  Protect yourself against these germs and you will be a lot better off.

It's funny, Oprah once said that if you want to meet nice people, surround yourself with runners because they are positive people.  Although I'm not suggesting that you strap on your shoes and join a running club tomorrow (although that can be a lot of fun), I do suggest that you put some conscious effort in who you surround yourself with.  Especially given the fact that that this is a business you are trying to develop.  Positivity breeds positivity; negativity breeds negativity.

As well, put some thought into surrounding yourself with people who can support and mentor you as you embark on this adventure.  There are all sorts of people out there who are interested in building their downline, but not all promoters are created equally.  Some will support, guide and mentor you.  Some will collect your sign up fee and hit the road and you'll never see them again.

Do people like this really exist? Sure they do!  In fact, I personally know of a guy who called every sales person he had bought something from and invited them to a big company event to try and convince them to join his team, yet that night he never even made contact with these people-- never even found them to say hello!  In fact I don't even think he remembered what the people he invited looked like!!  Yet a few days later he had the nerve to contact these people to see if they'd like to join his team!

So I guess the lesson here is to take your time and get to know the people in your business to assess if they have your best interest at heart. Are they in this business strictly for the pay cheque or do they sincerely want to help you? Do they have any marketing background or expertise themselves?  What is their attitude about how to do business, and does it mesh with yours?  These are all very important questions to ask yourself as you embark on this journey.

I think some people go to big company events and get very excited about the prospect of making big money in a short period of time and truly forget that this is a business.  Therefore, in order to succeed, you need to treat it as a business and play a strategic game.  Join a good team that has skilled team members and a knowledgeable coach.  Be proactive about creating your own success.

Use your initiative.
